On a hot summer evening, in the epicenter of Egypt's Giza Necropolis, 12 of the world's best freestyle motocross riders waged war at the second round of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour. In what was undoubtedly the most exotic backdrop in FMX competition history, 2007 X Games gold medalist Adam Jones threw down huge, walking away with the win and about 10,000 new Egyptian fans. Since winning the first round of the 2009 X-Fighters tour in Mexico City, 18-year-old New Zealander Levi Sherwood has been looking to repeat the victory, but has yet to. Going into Giza, things looked good for the young Kiwi considering his massive tricks, but his luck ran out after getting dominated by Adam Jones in the second round. Look for Sherwood to win an X-Fighters before the end of the year. (Red Bull)The Machine
Nate Adams is a machine when it comes to serving up the sport's toughest tricks when it counts -- no matter what the conditions -- and he proved that in Giza. Unfortunately the judges felt his picture perfect lazy boy flips and multiple 360's weren't enough to leave Giza the victor. Adams ended up third on the night, putting him second in the series standings, 35-points behind leader Andre Villa. (Red Bull)Seeing is Believing
Nothing should surprise the Giza locals considering the most mysterious structures in the world are located in their backyard, but the excitement on their faces during the entire event proves otherwise. Over 10,000 Egyptian FMX fans made it out for the second round of the 2010 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour. (Red Bull)Too Easy
Arizona's Jim McNeil is new to the X-Fighters tour for 2010, and though his tricks are as big or bigger than the top three, his effortless style often gets overlooked by the judges. McNeil put on a great show in Giza, but when it came down to it, he didn't have what it took pound-for-pound to take down Nate Adams in round 2. (Red Bull)No Stranger
When it comes to riding in exotic locales, Australia's Robbie 'Maddo' Maddison is no stranger. After jumping across the Corinth Canal in Greece, Maddo pinned it to the monumental Plaza de Torros in Mexico City, before heading to Pyramids of Giza where he then went on to put on an amazing performance, barely missing the podium by one. (Red Bull)Mexico City winner by default, Andre Villa, came into Giza to prove that his win was not a fluke. The 'Quali-King' -- as he's now being dubbed -- stayed true to form by winning Thursday's qualifiers, but after making it to the final round, Adam Jones ended his would-be winning streak. Villa is currently ranked first in the series standings. (Red Bull)

Dusk Patrol
Due to the Giza Plateau being the epicenter of Egypt's tourism, the government forced the riders to wait until the area had been cleared of all tourists before they could begin riding. But thanks to that restriction, beautiful photos like this were being snapped off left and right by Red Bull's amazing photographers. (Red Bull)New Jack
Red Bull phenom and X-Fighters new comer, Lance Coury, made the voyage from Southern California to Giza for his first-ever full scale competition. Coury put in a solid performance, but after dealing with bike problems and lack of practice, he wasn't able to advance to round two. (Red Bull)Can't Stop, Won't Stop
X Games Step Up star and whip master Ronnie Renner has quit competing in major freestyle competitions for good, but who's to say he still can't show up and throw down a few tweak airs in practice? Since retiring, Renner has been doing TV and on-air announcing for Red Bull, but only under one circumstance -- his bike gets shipped to each event. (Red Bull)About Time
There was no doubt in anyone's mind that Adam Jones had what it took win a big event like X-Fighters, but after getting less-than favorable treatment from judges at previous contests, Jones was beginning to doubt himself. With the pharohe gods on his side, Jones remained flawless throughout the night, eventually taking the win and leaving Egypt and new man. (Red Bull)The Shot
If there was any one photo that Red Bull was hoping to derive from this event, it's this shot of Petr Pilat during Wednesday evening's practice session. Mission accomplished. (Red Bull)World Wakeboarding News
